When clouds collide with turkeys…

…it’s feathers! Feathers & clouds don’t mix. The cloud-based jukebox we know as Jiveradio is still choking on the feathers from the stupid turkeys flying in Wednesday for their annual Turkey Day shenanigans. It may be days before our streams are clear again. If you, or someone you know, has turkeys, please ask them to keep the feather-brained gobblers grounded. Or at least put them in a pot pie.

Good news for some smart speaker users!

Amazon has actually done something GOOD for Jive listeners. They have supported radio stations in building their own Alexa ‘skills’ allowing Jivers to connect directly to our 3 streams, thereby avoiding Tune-In (and other aggregator sites) and their ads. For those of you with all Amazon/Echo devices, the commands are: “Alexa, play:

CAPTION CONTEST: A 3-way Tie!

Thanks to all you Jivers who sent in captions. There were dozens of clever, funny, and witty suggestions. This sure is a creative bunch! Lots of references to flux capacitors, space ships, and duct tape. In the end though, the girls up on 3rd Floor Marketing Dept. voted for these three:

On Nov. 8, 2023: The Universe traded Cozmik Cowboys

WE LOST: Our beloved voice man, our own Don Pardo, FRANK STANTON. He died after a badass cancer fight. His “…maybe the kids have been messin’ with it…” and myriad other production spots will run forever in the Jive-O-Sphere. The day before he died, he managed to voice one last signoff for us all [below], with one of his trademark lines… “Hi everybody, this is Frank Stanton signing off for now, and remember… be cool, buy bonds, and keep smilin’ baby, that sunshine’s good for your teeth!”.
