A Great Radio Guy Goes Silent
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that James Boyd K7MKN passed away yesterday (Friday 5/20/22), of a heart attack, at his home. In ham-speak he’s now a “Silent Key.”

James was a brilliant engineer, a gentleman, a fast friend, and one of our cadre of engineer allies that make the Jiveradio signals propagate into the aether. He helped us at Grizzly (KJIV) and Stacker Butte (KJYV) until very recently. He was a radio operator in the worst of the Viet Nam War (repeatedly sprayed & burned with Agent Orange) and came back to be one of the most respected field engineers in the Pacific Northwest. Jivelandia was lucky to have him in our sphere.
R.I.P. James Alan Boyd.

dropouts? Do YOU hear ’em?
… — .-. .-. -.– / ..-. — .-. / – …. . / -.. .-. — .–. — ..- – …
Sorry again, there is a ghost in the new machine causing intermittent dropouts on the KJIV stream. ACK!
DO YOU HEAR THEM? Approximately how often and what device? Please write me: laz@jiveradio.org
We have our crack technical crew on it’s trail. Hang with us. If it’s annoying you too much, the KDAN.FM stream is solid and carries all the same great Jive-assed shows you’re used to.

REPORTS ARE: The Gorge’s Jive is LOUD & CLEAR!
2pm 8apr22- Our man Cole and his able assistant Al, both helping out from KODL-AM The Dalles “Country’s Greatest Hits”, got the KJYV audio up to snuff today and it’s at the most power ever. Great to be back and groovin’ in the Gorge!
Thanks to all who support our excuse for real radio.

Problems at The Dalles/Hood River Jive outpost KJYV 101.5 were resolved last Friday with the very helpful efforts of Jive’s Cheaph Engineer Tom Werner, Day Wireless’ Tech Brad Briggs (above) and local radio KODL-AM’s Cole Malcolm (not pictured). Much thanks to all of them for putting their shoulders to our wheel to help us get back on the air.

While 101.5FM is now at full power, our audio is very low by mistake. JUST TURN UP YOUR KNOBS! IT WON’T HURT! WE PROMISE! —But seriously, our man Cole has volunteered to go up to the site this week and wham it up good & loud for y’all. So…HANG TIGHT BUTTERCUPS!
